ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3: Emily VanCamp’s summer schedule fills up
Emily VanCamp is finding new ways to capitalize on her “Revenge” success. While the actress already spends over half of the year working on the hit ABC series, she now has booked herself a movie role that should take up her free time right until the start of production next summer.
Sources have confirmed that VanCamp will star in the upcoming independent film “The Girl in the Book,” playing the daughter of a top New York literary agent who has to deal with some very difficult issues from her past while also dealing with a re-release from one of her father’s top authors. In the process of doing so, she also manages to discover her own sense of creativity and find herself. The movie will be directed by first-time director Marya Cohn, and marks VanCamp’s second recent movie role following her spot in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which will come out in theaters next year.
So does all of this success potentially shape VanCamp’s relationship with “Revenge”? Given that she could be more in-demand as a movie star moving forward, could it lead to her leaving the show? Don’t start thinking that way. The actress is currently under contract for at least six seasons, meaning that if she does choose to do more movies, she will have to get very creative with their scheduling. for now, can’t we just consider her current direction to be the best of both worlds? Other actresses, including Blake Lively, have been able to make this work at times in the past, so why not VanCamp?
