‘The Simpsons’ season 25 spoilers: ‘Arrested Development’s’ Will Arnett in
While “Up All Night” may have been canceled after two seasons, 2013 is still looking more and more like it could be the year for Will Arnett. First, the news came out that the actor’s new CBS pilot in “The Millers” was not only picked up for 13 episodes, but that it was getting the opportunity to air following “The Big Bang Theory.” Then, the new season of “Arrested Development” arrived on network, which was of course met with great rejoicing.
So what’s next for the “Saturday Night Live” alum? How about a guest spot on “The Simpsons” this coming season? According to TVLine, Arnett will play the part of an FBI anti-piracy head named Detective Gratman, who is forced to track down Homer after he is accused of illegally downloading a movie. It’s a pretty relevant topic for the show, especially when you consider just how often these days piracy and television go hand in hand.
The only thing perhaps more intriguing than the appearance by Arnett is the fact that this episode, which is currently set to air in December, will carry with it the amazing title of “Steal This Episode.” Never has a plea for publicity by the show made us laugh so much. We just hope that the story and the jokes live up now to the hype, mostly because we don’t want to make the same sort of cliched comments about “The Simpsons” that everyone else has made for the past 15 years.
Do you love Arnett’s casting, and do you think that this really could be the year of Will with everything that he has going on? If you want to take a more comprehensive look at “The Millers,” check out our full Fall TV Preview piece here.
