2013 CMT Music Awards: Live stream red carpet; Carrie Underwood, more expected

CMT Music AwardsIn just a matter of a few short minutes, CMT is going to kick off their live coverage of their own country-music awards show, which means that anyone who loves the genre is going to have an opportunity to celebrate. The CMT Music Awards are generally a pretty fun show, given that there is quite a bit of focus on the music, the atmosphere is light, and for some artists it marks an opportunity to get their music out there to a new audience.

So do you want to watch this red-carpet show live? For those of you who are in America, the network has provided a live stream here that kicks off at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. For everyone who just wants to watch the show itself, it will start on the actual network a number of minutes later.

Some of the nominees for the year include Carrie Underwood (scheduled to perform), Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and many more. Video of the Year is the network’s biggest trophy, and with the exception of Underwood, Swift, and Miranda Lambert (the go-to ladies of country right now), this year really appears to be about the guys.  There are some strong candidates, and with so much of this being about fan voting, we really have no idea who is going to win. With that being said, it would also be silly to claim that Swift is anything short of a mega-favorite given the size of her following.

Stay tuned: In case you are not watching the show tonight, we’re also going to have a full list of the winners a little bit later. If you want to see the full “American Idol” presence that will be at the show, be sure to hit up the link here.
