‘Glee’ season 5: Matthew Morrison talks changes to show, his schedule
Matthew Morrison is definitely someone who has experienced quite a bit thanks to “Glee” over the years: The show has made him into a star, and allowed him to do a variety of things that he previously did not have much of an opportunity at all to take part in.
However, at the same time it also presented him at times with an interesting dilemma: All though he has many more opportunities afforded to him than he ever had before, at the same time he does have to deal with a busy schedule that does not allow him to do everything else that he wants to. It’s for that reason that while so many of us enjoyed having Will Schuester be a focal part of the show, he was happy to have a little bit of time in between shooting this past (and probably for season 5) to do some other things.
Speaking in a lengthy new interview with Broadway World about this very thing, Morrison did his best to give a little bit of insight into how exactly he felt about the first few seasons of the show, and how he is ultimately rather pleased with his current role:
“I was really happy with this season and I really like the whole New York thing they’re doing – it’s really freed up a lot of time for us all as actors, too. I mean, for me, personally, it’s been the first time that I have been able to really enjoy LA and go out a little bit because before I was basically locked in a soundstage all day.”
As for whether or not Will could be around all season long this coming year, that’s to be seen. If more and more students move to New York City, then the odds are that the entire tone and focus of the show could shift.
