‘Dexter’ season 8: Michael C. Hall lines up another post-show gig

DexterMichael C. Hall is in the process of wrapping up his time on “Dexter” after an incredible eight years on the job, but based on what we are hearing now, the actor definitely does not have any plans of slowing down or even giving himself too much time to breathe when the show is over. Rather, he will be diving almost head-first straight into new projects.

According to a new report from Deadline, Hall has signed on to play the starring role in “Cold in July,” a movie that is largely about a sort of eye-for-an-eye revenge. After Hall’s character kills an armed burglar in his living room, the deceased’s father decides to take an “eye for an eye” strategy in trying to deal with him. This puts Hall in a very different situation that he has ever been in on the Showtime hit, suddenly going from the hunter to someone being hunted. This project is based on the novel by Joe Lansdale.

We already know that Hall has a busy future from a producing standpoint, as he is in the process of developing a new project for Showtime called “American Dream Machine,” which “Dexter” executive producer Scott Buck is also a part of. If this series is ordered, it is believed that he could play a small role in it; however, we have to wait and see if we get to that point. Showtime’s development process can take a rather long time.

What do you think about this news, and are you excited that Michael has himself a brand-new role? If you want to see what the actor has to say about the end of the series, all you have to do is visit the link here.
