‘Real Housewives of New York City’ season 6: Countess LuAnn de Lesseps last holdout

Real Housewives of NYCIs the “Real Housewives of New York City” contract dispute near an end already? You would hope so, but for the time being, there is still one name that is floating around out there, with fans eagerly awaiting some sort of resolution: Countess LeAnn de Lesseps. Granted, a resolution means that both sides would have to budge enough to make a deal happen.

We really do not have any idea what the holdup here ultimately is. We can’t imagine that it’s money, given that de Lesseps already has plenty of it, and it’s not like most of these Bravolebrities (with a nod to Andy Cohen for this fabulous made up word) make most of their earnings related to the show filming. They leverage the show into business opportunities and appearances, and can make in excess of several multipliers more if they get the story-lines and the promotion they want out of the show.

All we can say for now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is this: Production is already underway on season 6, which is slated to premiere later this year. With that, it’s unclear just what sort of role LuAnn would have on the show even if she does sign on. She could just be a regular starting an episode or two in, or a recurring player for the time being, much like Brandi Glanville was in her first season on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The only thing that we can say for certain is that this version of the show is a complete and utter mess, and it’s almost generated so much negative press for itself that it makes you forget that this was originally just a silly hour-long series that made you want to have a ton of money.

There is more about the “Real Housewives of New York City” struggle that you can read about here, but for now, we ask you this: Would you keep watching if LuAnn is not on the show?
