‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: Will Mariska Hargitay return after Olivia shocker?
On Wednesday night’s season finale for “Law & Order: SVU,” there was certainly a situation that no one expected in over a decade of the show: The possible death of a dearly-beloved character. (Warning: There are some major spoilers ahead, so read with caution.)
At the tail end of the episode, we saw Lewis not only break into the apartment of one Olivia Benson, but it looked as thought there was about to be a bullet fired into her head. The ramifications of this are super-huge at the moment. This means that after being a staple of a show, we could be seeing no more of Mariska Hargitay in a role that has made her a household name.
Of course, the plot is about to thicken even more so, because as of this writing, the actress does not have a new deal to return for the series’ landmark 15th season which could be the last given the declining ratings for the NBC franchise. We have been down this road before with characters on the series, and while it was not quite as extreme as this situation, we did see Christopher Meloni leave, and she could end up doing the same.
If there is a silver lining to report at the moment, it’s this: According to TVLine, Hargitay is reasonably close to signing a one-year deal that will bring her back to the show in some capacity. This is not a guarantee that it will happen, and nor is it a promise that Benson will return in the same physical state that she has been throughout the show’s run to this point.

please bring her back because law and order svu would not be the same without her ..we barely are getting by with out stabler but to take off benson would be a devastating heart break because has made this show a household name!!

she cant leave !!!!! please dont !!!! they might as well cancel the show because shes the best character on there . she blows everyone away. shes the best actress ever . ive never seen any actress show such emotion and thought . the way she does . shes awesome . i wish stabler would come back because they made an awesome team and showed such passion for each other and the victims they showed they cared . dont let svu die :(

I love this show and watch it all the time. I watch all new episodes on Wednesday but also am always looking for marathon shows on USA or any other channel I see it on. Mariska you must return. Please sign that dotted line. I was totally surprised at the ending last evening and just can’t even let myself think of anything happening to her. Let her use her fantastic defense skills and give that maniac what for. I enjoy the entire cast. Keep it going!!!!

Time to bring back Stabler , Cabot, with Benson
Maybe a Mini series with Goren and Emes
Got to wrap it up sometime. Since Christopher Miloni left the show it has lacked the chemistry of actors. The one thing NBC got right with Law And Order SVU and CI. Would be nice to see them again

Mariska BETTER return!!! Show isn’t the same without her!!! Please stay! Even if this is the last season for the series, you would be the perfect person to give it a proper closure!

Mariska Love, Love Olivia Benson. The writers are not crazy to kill the most beloved character from the show. If I do not see Mariska leaving SVU. But it will continue. I think this will be his last season. It’s good to leave the show without humiliating ratings. And Mariska seems to want more time with your family. She already gave his all for this show.

All I can say is Olivia makes the show; she’s the star if you ask me. I hope she returns for another season as nothing less than she has been previously. If not, well all I can say is there’s a strong possibility that I will loose interest and stop watching.

Bullet???? Mariska IS svu! But there were hints that she was upset with something before her attack. I would love to see her come back full force next year because it probably will be the last unless they get some better writers
