Invasion season 3: Is it renewed, canceled at Apple TV+?
Following the season 2 finale tonight on Apple TV+, is there going to be an Invasion season 3 renewal? Or, is this sci-fi drama at the end of the road?
We do think that with this particular subject matter, there is always going to be more stories to tell — it is really a matter of how you want to go about them. First and foremost here, the #1 thing that we should do is recount where things currently stand: There is no official season 3 renewal as of yet. We remain hopeful that some more news is going to come out over the next few months, but we know that in general, the streamer can tend to operate at somewhat of their own pace. If they don’t have to hurry anything along, they have no reason to do so.
Now, the bad news is that Apple TV+, like many other streaming services out there, does not have that much of a reason to tip the scales one way or another in advance. They don’t share viewership numbers, meaning that a lot of times, their reasons for canceling a show can be somewhat of a surprise. They don’t always make sense on the outside — take The Afterparty, which was a show we really liked and with the right promotion, felt like it could have gone on for a little while longer. That didn’t happen.
Ultimately, the #1 piece of advice we can offer if you want to see more of Invasion is rather simple: Spread the word and get more people watching! This is one of those series that has a global audience, but it feels like for whatever reason, it has not popped as much in America as it could. We do think that there’s always going to be at least some interest in this sort of extraterrestrial storytelling, and there is also a gritty quality to it that makes it feel like an action thriller.
Now, provided we get another season…
Be prepared to be waiting for a while. With the time it takes to write, edit, and produce a show of this scale, we would be rather surprised if we ended up seeing more before we got around to 2025.
