Fox auto-tunes ‘Glee’ season 5, ‘The Following’ season 2, more in 2013-14 lineup video

FoxThis just in: Fox really wants you to like the lineup that they have put out there for the upcoming 2013-14 TV season. How much so? Let us just say that they were willing to go to the lengths of using auto-tune in order to create something that could go viral.

You see, the problem that Fox probably has with this highlight-reel-of-sorts is that not everyone is going to like all of the shows mentioned. Then again, you do have to give them a massive A for effort. There are new shows mixed in here throughout, including “Sleepy Hollow,” “Enlisted,” and Andy Samberg’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” but there are also some highlights from some familiar shows.

While it may sound strange, there probably are a few interesting things that you can read into the clip based just on what is shown. Fox has a better understanding of their shows’ story-lines than anyone, since they want to adequately represent things in terms of what is coming. For example, just take a look at “Glee.” We know that Heather Morris’ pregnancy will in part force her to take a reduced role in the show next season, but if the writers really wanted to get rid of her for good (or if she wanted to leave), do you think that she’d be included here? That would be like salt in the wound for fans already sad that she won’t be around as much next season. This clip could also be seen as a subtle sign of support for Cory Monteith, who recently completed a stint in rehab that caused him to miss the final two episodes of season 4.

Also notable? That “The Following” is indeed mentioned, despite it not being back for season 2 until early next year. Then again, you cannot be too surprised by this given that it was their highest-rated new show of the year by a pretty substantial margin.

This article is just one component of what is becoming a pretty massive fall preview series. We’ve got more schedules, analysis, and clips for you to watch than you’ll know what do with by the time you’re done. All you have to do to get immersed is start your journey here.
