‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ preview: Heather Dubrow’s lunch with Lydia
In some ways, it must be nice to be a new cast member on “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” You don’t have to enter every season feeling jaded over what has happened the year before, and you can get to know people without as much of a prejudice.
With that in mind, hats off to Lydia McLaughlin for actually trying to become acquainted with Heather Dubrow and Tamra Barney, rather than just taking what her pal Alexis Bellino says at her word. She is a very honest woman from what we are seeing thus far and isn’t afraid to speak her mind without getting into a shouting match. While in some ways she is defending Alexis in that she is not as awful as she has been made out to be by some of the other women, she also admits that there are times in which she struggles to really let the positive side of her personality shine through. Take, for example, when she complains about being bullied while simultaneously claiming that God is in some way on her side.
Is a friendship between Lydia, Heather, and Tamra really possible while there is still a friendship there with Alexis? In the long-term, we don’t know since there will likely be an incident at some point where she is forced to pick a side. However, for now it seems to certainly be a smart move to get to know everyone and to judge each person for who they are and not what she hears. If you can be friends with everyone, that will certainly help down the road when it comes to friendships and business opportunities with these ladies.
Do you really think that Lydia will be able to walk the tightrope, or do you anticipate her being thrust in the middle between Alexis and Tamra very soon? If you want to read our full review for this past “Real Housewives of Orange County” episode, you can do so over here.
