‘The Vampire Diaries’ finale spoilers: Nina Dobrev on graduation, fighting herself
A week from Thursday, “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 will come to a close with what should be a pretty emotional finale. Regardless of whatever sort of supernatural madness is plaguing the town of Mystic Falls, graduation is a pretty big ordeal for any teenager. It is the end of an era, and a time of your life that you will really never have again.
So what did Nina Dobrev have to say about having to film what was such a pivotal moment in her character’s life? Speaking to Wetpaint, she not only described the emotions that went into it, but also went on to share some details about how the hard-working people behind the scenes tried to give the cast something special to remember the occasion by:
“The good thing is that we still have more time together. We’re not finishing, so that’s always a consolation. But at the same time, it feels like an era has ended. We were able to really look back, and the creator, Julie Plec, and Kevin [Williamson] made a yearbook for the entire cast and crew with all of these pictures of the crew and cast over the last four years. It really felt like, ‘Wow. We’ve grown up, and we’ve changed so much.’ It’s been very surreal.”
Meanwhile, Dobrev also shared a few thoughts on what is slated to be a pretty fantastic battle between Elena and her doppelganger Katherine that is coming up, which we are almost positive will be a complete blast to watch unfold:
“It was very difficult and challenging to shoot … It is pretty epic. It’s going to look really cool, but I’ve never had to do anything like that before, and it was a very long day.”
