‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 finale spoilers: A different kind of ‘death’
So where does the show go this time around? For that, we turn to executive producer Shonda Rhimes. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she would neither confirm nor deny that there was going to be a a visit from the Grim Reaper during the hour. However, she was quick to say that we will probably have a story that carries with it a similar level of emotional weight:
“We’re definitely going to see some people in jeopardy. When we leave the season, we’re definitely going to be worried about one of our own. I don’t think that anything can match the brutality of last year’s finale for me. I just watched it again recently and was kind of surprised myself about the brutality of it. I don’t think we’re going to match that but for a lot of our characters, it’s a much more emotional [ending]. There’s a lot of emotional death.”
Here’s what we can say about the episode right now: A massive storm will be coming through the Seattle area, and one doctor in particular will be fighting for his or her life. Meanwhile, there will be the possibility of several relationships changing course, especially when you consider that there are many already whose status still hangs in the balance.
