‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 6: Is NeNe Leakes returning?

Even though “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” season 5 is still very much in reunion mode, this is not stopping some rumors from starting to crop up already about the future of some of the show’s cast members, including someone who has to be one of the most-popular stars of any of the Bravo series.

Luckily, the following is good news, at least so long as you are willing to believe it. According to a report from OK! Magazine, NeNe Leakes has agreed to sign on yet again for the upcoming sixth season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Not only that, but she has inked a new contract that would reportedly make her the highest-paid star of the entire franchise at $1 million plus bonuses.

What is rather interesting about the “Real Housewives” series is that really, most of these women do not even go on here for the salaries alone. This instead use this show as a platform to launch other brands and go on promotional tours. Bethenny Frankel is a great example of that, as she built up Skinnygirl into a brand worth tens of millions of dollars. This is why, after all, you see many of these ladies launching everything from beauty brands to music careers.

When it comes to NeNe, she has used her series to jump into acting. It makes sense for her to dive back into “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for another season, mostly because the fate of “The New Normal” is unclear and she is only an occasional guest star on “Glee.” She also has reconciled her relationship with Kim Zolciak, which is certainly something that no one could have really predicted several months ago.
