‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: Joe Manganiello on shockers, showrunner swap

True BloodBehind the scenes, this has clearly been a season of change for “True Blood.” Alan Ball stepped down from his primary duties as showrunner, and since that time his replacement in Mark Hudis has been replaced, as well. Brian Buckner now holds the reigns to one of HBO’s most-popular series, but the good news is that one of the show’s breakout stars does not overly seem concerned about the change’s impact on the actual episodes.

Speaking as a part of a new interview with E! News, Joe Manganiello (Alcide) was kind enough to share his thoughts on Buckner’s hire, as well as the sort of shift in attitude that comes with that:

“I think with Brian Buckner replacing Alan Ball there’s maybe some hair being let down, maybe some ‘let’s get wild, let’s get crazy!'”

Of course, we’re also assuming that some of you out there are looking for actual scoop when it comes to the show, as well, which leads to Manganiello also saying the following about the road ahead for all of the characters in the “True Blood” world … which of course includes some death along the way:

“We’re in the middle of episode six, moving right along. Right now, we still have the big cast with the big table-reads, but pretty soon everybody’s going to start getting knocked off!”

For now, all we can say about Alcide this season is this: he’s going to use his status as packmaster to his advantage with the ladies, and we are going to see plenty of his father around courtesy of Robert Patrick’s series regular status.
