‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4 spoilers: Patricia Arquette signs on for major role

When “Boardwalk Empire” season 4 premieres on HBO a little later this year, we’re going to be seeing Nucky Thompson face yet another battle as he looks to keep both his public and secret lives afloat in a very dangerous time. You may have already heard that Ron Livingston and Jeffrey Wright have each signed on already in series regular roles; and now, a woman who should be familiar to many network TV fans has also hopped on board the metaphorical ship.

According to Deadline, Patricia Arquette has booked her first major TV gig since seven seasons of “Medium” on this show, as she will be playing Sally Wheel, a woman out of Tampa with some rather unusual connections to the local mob. Sadly, there’s not too much else known for the time being; but if gangs are involved, we have a good feelings that Nucky will also be there.

The series is already in production, and this could be a pretty significant season for it coming up when it comes to regaining public traction. The third season was strong when it comes to quality, but it failed to draw much media attention against the likes of “Homeland,” “Dexter,” “The Walking Dead,” “The Good Wife,” and many more all airing around the same time. Hopefully, this filming period is being taken as a moment in which the show can have a few big events to really get the buzz building, and to land this show back into the winners’ circle in a way that many series do not during their fourth seasons.
