‘Supernatural’ season 8 spoilers: First look at Misha Collins in ‘The Great Escapist’

Misha CollinsHave you been waiting patiently for the return of Castiel to “Supernatural” season 8? While it’s not guaranteed that Misha Collins is absent during the show’s April 24 return entitled “Pac-Man Pever,” he is not mentioned in the official synopsis for the hour. Meanwhile, he is officially going to be a part of the episode that follows.

In case you have not heard already, the 21st installment of the show (airing on May 1) is entitled “The Great Escapist,” and it looks to be all about Castiel’s attempts to escape the clamps that Naomi and the other angels have put on him; meanwhile, the Winchesters are going to have a mission of their own try to find a way to complete the trials that have eluded them the past few weeks:

“When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) receive a distressing video message from Kevin Tran (guest star Osric Chau), they set about trying to uncover the Third Trial. The boys make a discovery that sends them to a casino in Colorado, to find a mysterious recluse (guest star Curtis Armstrong) who may be able to fill in the holes in Kevin’s research. Meanwhile, Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) is on a winning streak. Castiel (Misha Collins) tries to elude Naomi (guest star Amanda Tapping) and the angels hunting him.”

Following this episode, there are only going to be two episodes to go before we know just how this storyline regarding the tablet is going to end for the time being. Will this be carried over to next season? We’re sure it will to an extent, but surely with another few wrinkles thrown in (plus much more Cas, since Misha is going to be a series regular).
