TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 2 finale spoilers: Now with a touch of ‘Lost’

DallasThe producers behind TNT’s “Dallas” aren’t looking to just try and solve the mystery of “who killed J.R. Ewing” on the season 2 finale Monday night; they are also bringing in a new face to play an old face. Not only that, but this character has made a living off of changing the faces of other people.

According to a report from TV Guide, actor Sam Anderson, best known for his part as Bernard on “Lost,” has been cast to play the part of Dr. David Gordon, the plastic surgeon that Pam has supposedly had fallen in love with. She thought that she was dying at the time, and she didn’t want to force Bobby and Christopher into saying goodbye again after they believed that she was dead in the first place.

There are a couple of interesting wrinkles to Anderson’s casting in this role. First of all, producers tried to find the actor who played the part in the original series, but were unable to do so. In casting Anderson, they have actually hired someone who played a different part on the classic “Dallas” series. After all, he played Inspector Frank Howard for a couple of episodes back in 1985. (Maybe some longtime fans of the show will catch this, and it will be an extra treat for them.)

The Pam mystery, along with what happened to J.R., is currently what has fans of the show so amped up for what should be a pretty exciting episode. Let’s just hope that there are enough loose ends tied up for this to function as a series finale if it ends up being one, while at the same time leaving things open-ended enough for the possibility of a season 3.
