‘Shameless’ season 3 finale spoilers: Frank faces the truth

Is Frank Gallagher willing to change for the sake of not just himself, but also his family? Going into Sunday night’s season 3 finale for “Shameless” on Showtime, this has to be the question on the lips of many of the series’ diehard fans. After all, the man will be forced to make a major decision after being placed in the hospital, and this is only going to be one of a number of key moments that everyone will end up making before the show comes to a close for 2013.

Before we go any further, let’s start things off here by sharing a brief synopsis for the episode (appropriately titled “Survival of the Fittest”) that was released recently by Showtime:

“Lip is graduating from high school, so Fiona and the family prepare a surprise party for him. Frank wins a bet and uses the winnings to take Lip out for lobster and some quality father/son time.”

In addition to the events above, the promo below suggests that we will be talk about someone’s future in the military, which of course means that we could see some potential departures before season 4 picks up. Showtime has already renewed the series, which is nice in that you don’t have to watch the episode with any sort of worry in your head about whether or not it will be back for more.

At the end of the day, we’re not so much invested in one particular ending to the season; we just hope that it is executed as well as the series has been all year.
