‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoilers: Who’s suggesting a role now?
While promoting “Once Upon a Time’s” Great Britain airings, actor Josh Dallas recently told Digital Spy that in the right situation, he’d love to take on a future role on the series (or at least an offshoot of it set on this coast):
“I’m a huge Downton Abbey fan,” he revealed. “In fact, I’d love to do an American [version of] Downton Abbey if I could possibly make that happen.
“I’m a huge fan of the show – the writing I think is fantastic. It’s very hard for me to watch one episode and I sometimes have to skip ahead and watch two! … I could be like a cousin or I could be Shirley MacLaine’s nephew coming over from America.”
While of course this interview makes it appear as though Dallas brings “Downton Abbey” out of the blue, he’s probably asked what he thinks of the show, and whether or not he would want to appear in it. Ultimately, working alongside McLaine is a pretty smart chose she is one of the series’ most-popular guest stars, and it has already been confirmed that she will be appearing in at least one episode of the upcoming fourth season.
As for what else we are going to see unfold, the early portion of the new season is for sure going to cast some focus on what happens in the months following Matthew’s death, as Mary is forced to confront life as a widow. However, there will be some new men stepping in to try and steal her heart soon after.
