‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: A new Stark rises

The Walking DeadWhoever decided to name (or code-name?) the latest character for “The Walking Dead” has to be a big fan of “Game of Thrones.” Here’s to hoping that they meet a better fate than Ned.

According to a new report from SpoilerTV, the AMC series is casting a man by the name of Roy Stark, who will appear in the first episode of season 4 and be a regular for at least the upcoming sixteen episodes. Not much is known about the man just yet, except that he is expected to be in his late 30s to early 40s and that he served as an Army medic prior to the start of the zombie apocalypse.

So why do we bring up the talk of code names? The easy answer is that the writers and producers may not want the character’s true identity coming out yet, and there is no man by this name in the Robert Kirkman comics. Then again, we’ve also seen some people (see Daryl, Merle, or Milton) who are original creations already, and with two of those people dead courtesy of the final episodes of season 3, the show may feel it necessarily to inject some need blood. The closest comparison fans of the comics have come up with for now when it comes to this character is Abraham (which we won’t talk about here for those of you who want to avoid even possible plot spoilers).

Production will be starting up soon on the new episodes in the Atlanta area, with the series once again returning for more in October. The major difference is that Scott M. Gimple is now running the show rather than Glen Mazzara.

What do you think about this possible character? If you want to hear what Andrew Lincoln and the cast are saying about the upcoming season, you can do so over at the link here.
