‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 alum lands ‘Law & Order: SVU’ role

Eion BaileyEion Bailey may not longer be visiting Storybrooke on “Once Upon a Time” as August W. Booth, but he has landed himself another role elsewhere. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor (who also appeared for an arc on “Covert Affairs”) has signed on for a guest spot on “Law & Order: SVU,” where he will play an Iraq war vet named Frank Patterson who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, but also ends up being a witness in a sexual assault investigation at a nightclub.

The actor’s episode will air on the long-running NBC show in April, and it likely begins a new chapter for the actor after playing the grown-up version of Pinocchio. Thanks to the ending of this past episode, which saw August transformed back into a young boy, it’s hard to see his services called on there again save for a few key flashback moments like we saw with “Tallahassee” earlier this season. However, Bailey’s going to have his hands full, anyway, with a number of upcoming projects.

As for “Law & Order: SVU,” they continue their tradition of scoring rising-star actors for guest roles, and keep themselves buzzy with audiences who do not even always watch their show. Given the grim subject matter, it could be a challenge for them to really make roles work all of the time for guest stars; however, they consistently find a way to make it happen, and even get a few of them mentioned come awards season from time to time.
