During the final episodes of “Sons of Anarchy” season 6, you got a taste of why Lee Toric is going to be a major problem for SAMCRO and some other familiar faces; for some evidence of that, just ask Otto to open his mouth. As it turns out, though, we are only scratching the surface still on who this man is and what he is capable of within the town of Charming.
Speaking per TVLine at FX’s upfront presentation this week, executive producer Kurt Sutter shared a few details on why Donal Logue’s character is going to be such a major threat to Jax Teller’s world, and also what makes him stand out versus Damon Pope and some of the other “villains” from the past:
“We sort of fluctuate, where one season the adversary will be in the outlaw world and other seasons it’ll be someone from the law enforcement world — and the interesting thing about Donal’s character is he sort of falls in the middle … He’s law enforcement, but he’s ex-law enforcement. He’s probably the most dangerous adversary they’ve ever had in terms of his access to law enforcement information, yet he doesn’t necessarily have to follow all those rules.”
Sutter also added that there would be a new VP of SAMCRO this year, and that there are a pair of new characters coming up: one will be an “old-school shot-caller that’s out of Stockton,” whereas the other will be an important female role that comes from the escort world.
“Sons of Anarchy” season 6 will premiere on FX this fall, and we will of course have plenty more scoop in the weeks and months ahead. Want to know more from Sutter now? If so, be sure to watch the video over at the link here.
