‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 18 preview: Meet the show’s Charles Xavier

SupernaturalFor whatever reason, we have spent much of the past several days constantly thinking of “X-Men” whenever Wednesday night’s new episode of “Supernatural” comes to mind. “Freaks and Geeks” is going to be a pretty interesting episode, since it poses a moral question almost from the get-go: is it worth putting kids through terrible things in order to make them the best hunters possible, or should they be allowed to actually have some sort of childhood?

The sneak peek below certainly takes this debate serious, and both Sam and Dean also make their positions on the issue pretty well-known while we are reminded just of what these kids are capable of. The synopsis below should give you a better idea of just what we are about to encounter, though it may at the same time make you very sad that there will be no Misha Collins (seemingly) or the continuation of the trials story here:

“Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate some recent vampire kills and are surprised to learn Krissy Chambers (guest star Madison McLaughlin) is involved. They find Krissy and learn her father was killed and she’s been taken in by a man named Victor (guest star : Adrian Hough), who has taken in a group of orphan kids to teach them how to hunt. Victor is helping the teenagers find the vampires who took their parents so they can get revenge. Sam is intrigued by Victor’s method of giving the teenagers a home life as well as a hunting life, but Dean is suspicious of Victor’s motives.”

What do you think about this episode, and did you ever imagine that you would see either Sam or Dean playing the role of this sort of moral compass? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can read some more scoop pertaining to Jensen Ackles over at the link here.
