‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 18 preview: The next move after a death

SupernaturalHave you managed to wipe all of the tears off of your face yet? The moment we knew that last night’s “Supernatural” episode was entitled “Goodbye Stranger,” it was pretty easy to assume that there was going to be some sort of tragedy involved. However, who knew that this tragedy was going to be as sad as losing Meg? This was one of the saddest episodes of the year, but somehow, the show has to find a way to move forward … and soon.

But is this really the way in which “Supernatural” fans are going to want to move on? Next week’s “Freaks and Geeks” appears to be on the surface more of a filler episode, as Sam and Dean are forced into trying to deal with some super-powered hunters. Basically, this sounds like a more terrifying version of X-Men, and our heroes are going to need to try and find a way to take them out.

With there being only so much time left in the season, you probably are only going to see so much more in the way of standalone hours, but we also have to say that by and large, most of them have actually been pretty solid hours on entertainment. The only episode that we can really say was dreadful was that “found footage” hour, but that was a combination of filler and the producers trying to give Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles a little bit of time off during the season.

What do you want to see happen next week on “Supernatural” following Meg’s death, and are you okay with the show transitioning to what seems to be a standalone episode?
