‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and a rock show

Ready to see yet another sneak peek for Thursday night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” season 4? This time around, we are looking at the adventures of Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in New York City, along with the the character along for the ride in Rebekah (Claire Holt). It’s a new sneak peek, and you can check it out in full below.

So what are the three in the Big Apple for? From one standpoint, you could look at this as a trip to highlight anything and everything when it comes to vampire debauchery. There are more necks here to suck dry than in any other city in America, after all, and we have a feeling that Elena especially (now that she is missing a humanity switch) will be rather interested in getting started.

However, we don’t really see a vampire feast at all in the clip. Instead, we have the sort of hipster music party that we would see in an episode of “Girls,” except that the music is a little bit more rock-based and we don’t have any sort of weird, existential emotions being tossed about. The name Lexie comes up very fast, and it takes no time at all for this preview to turn into a window for Damon’s own past. He is a complicated vampire, and through flashbacks this week we will see that his relationship with a woman well-known for protecting Stefan will be a little bit more complicated than anyone thought.

On a different note, this is one of the first looks that we’ve really had of Elena since her makeover. You like, or do you wonder where she got the cast to get this done?
