‘New Girl’ season 2 spoilers: Odette Annable talks romancing Nick

On Tuesday night’s “New Girl,” Jess is going to find herself some new competition in the hunt for one Nick Miller’s heart, and this is not going to be someone that she can easily push away. As a matter of fact, it is a woman named Shane who just so happens to be his new boss at the bar.

A woman who should be familiar to Fox audiences in Odette Annable (“Breaking In,” the final season of “House”) is going to be playing this role, and she opens up a little bit more about this in a new video preview for Fox below. She specifically comments a little bit on how Shane is a woman who really just gets what she wants, and will do whatever she needs to in order to make it happen.

With this sort of attitude in mind, it is almost a given to say that we are not going to be seeing Shane and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) getting along. Jess is finally starting to get interested in being with her roommate, but now she is going to have this major obstacle in her way. Is there anything that she can really do about it, especially since anything she does do could end up risking some major career trouble for Nick? This will be something that will hopefully be explored as this episode plays out, and we get closer and closer to finding out if this couple is at a place in their lives right now where they can actually be together.
