‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2, episode 17 preview: The origins of Mary Margaret

Ginnifer GoodwinWhat were the early days of Storybrooke like on “Once Upon a Time”? This is a question that we have wondered ever since we were first introduced to the tiny Maine town, and on Sunday night’s new episode of the ABC drama series, we are finally getting the opportunity to find out.

While not all of the episode is going to take place via flashbacks, the ones that we are going to see will be especially prominent. Take, for example, the video below that features Ginnifer Goodwin’s Mary Margaret be put to the test by the town’s mayor in Regina. (After last week’s episode, doesn’t the last name of “Mills” make even more sense?) This must be very early on in the curse, as the one-time Evil Queen asks the former Snow White how long she has been a teacher at the school, and then proceeds to show her a body in the hospital. This man is of course David, and she has no recollection of who he is at all.

We know already that these are hardly the only characters that we are going to be seeing as we jump into the time machine. Jamie Dorman will return as Sheriff Graham for the week, and there will also be some smaller Storybrooke players that we haven’t seen in a while. It may seem strange at first that the show decided now of all times to present us with this look back, but it will make a little bit more sense as we prepare to meet the alternate personality to Belle, the yin to her yang.
