‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Notes on Ian Somerhalder, Joseph Morgan

The Vampire DiariesWith “The Vampire Diaries” returning to The CW in just three short days, we’ve got a pair of updates as to what some of your favorite cast members from the show are up to … beginning with the man who recently had the honor of meeting Grumpy Cat in Austin in Ian Somerhalder.

As Ian confirmed on his Twitter early Monday, he will be a guest on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live!,” which is being done at the famous SXSW festival in Austin this week. Specifically, Somerhalder (per the show’s official site) is going to be on the episode airing on Wednesday, while Monday’s show will feature Brandi Glanville (of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”) and Gillian Jacobs (“Community”). Meanwhile, Tuesday’s show will revolve largely around comedic genius Sarah Silverman. Ian is a self-admitted big fan of Cohen’s, so this should be a fun and revealing interview. If Ian does play “Plead the Fifth” during the show, watch out for big news!

On a different note more related to “The Vampire Diaries” series itself, “The Originals” has hit the Big Easy! Both Joseph Morgan along with executive producer Julie Plec have confirmed that the crew and cast are in New Orleans now, where they are continuing to work on the April 25 episode that also serves as a backdoor pilot for a potential spin-off show to launch in the fall. We anticipate this getting picked up more so than just about any other show on TV.

Be sure to keep coming back, as we’re going to have more “Vampire Diaries” scoop leading up to the new episode Thursday. For now, be sure to follow the link here in order to get more scoop from Morgan on “The Originals” and its new faces.
