‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: More details on Cora, Rumpelstiltskin’s past

Once Upon a TimeIt has to be rather frustrating to be Rumpelstiltskin sometimes. You’re one of the most-powerful characters in all of the world on “Once Upon a Time,” but by the same token you are also responsible in some shape or form for the transformation of many of these characters into the people that they are today. For one example, just look at the sole fact that he taught Regina almost all of the dark magic that she now knows; and as it turns out, he also once was there for Cora back when she was young and in need of help.

You’ve already seen the preview for Sunday night’s episode “The Miller’s Daughter,” so now be sure to read the full synopsis below courtesy of ABC:

“Cora’s desire to rid herself of Rumplestiltskin in order to take his place as The Dark One takes one step closer to becoming reality as she and Regina try to overpower a dying Mr. Gold, and Mary Margaret is once again tempted by dark magic. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Rumplestiltskin agrees to offer his services to a younger Cora – for a price – when the king calls her bluff and orders her to actually follow through on her boast of being able to spin straw into gold.”

First of all, we rather appreciate the fact that this is the first time in quite a long time that we’ve really gotten a sense of the real Rumpelstiltskin character in a storyline, and this is once again Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz being very clever in weaving this into the actual story. The past few episodes have been the strongest of the season, and it is a dire shame that the ratings have not always matched.

Do you think Cora will be stopped soon, or are we set to see her reign of terror continue for a while? If you want to check out the video preview for this episode once again, you can do so here.
