‘The X Factor’ UK: Tulisa, Gary Barlow, and more judging rumor insanity

There are a few things that are almost a certainty in this world: morning, night, life, death, and the press making up stories. When it comes to the British press and “The X Factor” UK, the judging rumors are almost like clockwork. If you are to believe all of them collectively, then every judge would be getting fired, all of them would be coming back, and there would be about 20 new judges on the panel.

So what can we say for sure right now? Ultimately, it’s really not much more than what was actually out there a number of months ago. First and foremost, you can go ahead and chalk Nicole Scherzinger up as returning. She was extremely popular among the show’s fans all season long, and she also gave real, honest feedback and is close with Simon Cowell.

As for everyone else, it’s really still up in the air. Signs point to Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow coming back, with the two being established on the show and fairly popular with the audience. While not everyone loves Louis, the truth of the matter is that he is this show’s Randy Jackson: a familiar face to remind us of the old days.

The last remaining mystery, therefore, is Tulisa. Just under two years after guiding Little Mix to the title, the former N-Dubz singer may be the one judge to ultimately say goodbye. Her solo album was a bit of a disappointment, and there have already been rumors that she has been let go. Personally, we would actually like to see her stay put since she is current and gives the panel some urban edge; plus, who are they really going to replace her with? We hear the Cheryl Cole rumors every week, but we’ll believe it when we see it.
