Morrissey won’t appear on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, takes issue with ‘Duck Dynasty’ cast

Duck DynastyWe have been huge supporters of “Duck Dynasty” ever since it first came on the scene, because it brings something to reality television that we haven’t seen in a very long time – love, respect and family values.  Many reality TV shows these days focus on the fighting, drinking and promiscuity to boost their ratings, but “Duck Dynasty” hasn’t included any of those aspects into their show and they kill it in the ratings every week.

Some of the cast members of “Duck Dynasty” are set to be guests on tonight’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and while many of us are so excited to watch since we have been going through duck-withdrawal since before Christmas, there is one person who wants nothing to do with the show if the duckmen are involved.

According to Entertainment Weekly, former “Smiths” front man, Morrissey, has taken issue with being the musical guest tonight on Kimmel if the cast from “Duck Dynasty” are the guests.  So what exactly is Morrissey’s problem with the hit A&E series?  A rep for Morrissey says that he “cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of “Duck Dynasty” will also be guests”.

Morrissey has made it no secret that he is a vegan and is against the killing of animals and because the men from “Duck Dynasty” are hunters he does not want to be associated with the show.  His rep told E!: “Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, Feb. 26.  Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if Duck Dynasty were removed.”   Morrissey himself also released a statement about not performing on Kimmel saying: “As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers.”

“Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson commented on his Twitter account about Morrissey not performing on Kimmel because of their presence on the show, saying: “I told Si Morrisey [sic] would not be performing tonight on Jimmy Kimmel. Si said “Is that the lead singer for the Doors?”

Do you think that Morrissey is taking things too far by not appearing on Kimmel tonight or do you stand behind his decision not to perform on the show?  Leave us a comment and tell us if you will be tuning in tonight to see what the cast of “Duck Dynasty” has to say about their new season.
