NBC’s ‘The Office’ season 9 spoilers: Will Ryan Howard be the spokesperson for Jim’s company?
Having a start up company like Jim Halpert’s can be difficult, especially since he is balancing all the long hours that go with starting a business along with the fact that his wife and children are so far away from him. It hasn’t always been easy for Jim, but it looks like he might be getting a bit of a break moving forward – at least when it comes to the business side of his life.
In a new interview on ESPN with Craig Robinson (who plays Darryl on “The Office”), he revealed that Jim’s company is going to be going after a big sports name as a sponsor for the business in Philadelphia Phillies slugger Ryan Howard. The baseball player will be playing an exaggerated version of himself on the March 28th episode of “The Office” as we watch the marketing reps at Athlead try to sign Howard to the company as their spokesperson. So how is Jim and company going to try and land Howard for their business? Robinson said:
“Well, you know, we’re trying to blow this up. We want to be a success and we want him joining us, but we’re looking out for his best interests, too. We want to see Ryan’s star grow to beyond a household name, to where he’s a household-and-backyard name.”
It’s always touchy when television series cast sports figures, because it’s not always a slam dunk that they can act, but Robinson says that Howard was not only really funny, but that he can act. He said:
“Ryan killed it. He was dope, man. He’s pretty damn funny in real life, which doesn’t always translate to TV, but he killed it. He’s definitely a better actor than John Krasinski. Without a doubt. [Laughs.] I’m just playing.”
There’s a bit of a wait until the next new episode of “The Office season 9”, but if you can’t wait until it returns and want some more spoilers then be sure to read our story about Dwight’s new adversary.
