‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: More on Nina Dobrev’s other character
All season long with “The Vampire Diaries,” we’ve spoken about just what could be coming up when it comes to Nina Dobrev’s character of Elena. However, there was another key player that ultimately ended up entering the equation on this past episode that is causing the actress to be rather busy: Katherine. All of a sudden, we’ve learned that the Doppelganger has some sort of use for the cure, and is going to be going after it despite having to potentially contend with Klaus (who is still in Mystic Falls) at some point down the road.
So what could this character want? While Joseph Morgan could not be specific in a new interview with TV Guide, he did still do his best to reiterate that we are very likely going to see Klaus and Katherine interact at some point moving forward:
“We’ve got to bear in mind this is someone who Klaus hunted down for 500 years. So she’s going to want to do everything she can to avoid him … [She has a plan], whether that’s trying to kill [Klaus] or make peace with him or trying to broker a deal with him, that remains to be seen, but absolutely not something that’s brushed over.”
Katherine was of course a pretty integral part of the second season of the show in particular, but this is the first time that she has played a pretty prominent role in the story since fleeing Mystic Falls in the fall of 2011 after actually forming a brief alliance with some other characters against Klaus.
What do you want to see happen with Katherine now that she is part of the equation again on “The Vampire Diaries” season 4? Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment below, and you can watch a sneak peek from Thursday night’s new episode over at the link here.

I’m shocked that Julie Plec has “killed” Jeremy. With the Originals set to go – who will be left on the Vampire Diaries? We have invested time and have grown to care so deeply for these characters. Why eliminate one of the core? Could there not have been an alternate way to make Elena dark and wasn’t there so many more story lines for Jeremy? Now we have to contend with “orphan” Elena – very similar to how Katherine became evil when Klaus murdered her entire family. I think Stephen Mc Queen was a great actor and it was a major mistake to write his character out of the show. I know Matt Davis wanted to do “Cult” and Jenna was in many ways dispensable – but Elena’s baby brother!!!! How could they!!!!!!(:

UGH!!! I HATE Katherine! I can’t believe she fed Jeremy’s blood to Silas. JerBear was becoming a favorite of mine, the only one who could rationalize situations and he looked soooo hot with Bonnie right before that bitch Katherine walked in. And now hes dead :'( I hope Silas brings him back! If Elena doesn’t get Jeremy back she will definitely wreak havoc … and hopefully kill Katherine once and for all!

I always thought that Katherine was a pretty smart character, but they say the defintion of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect different results, in her case keep making deals with Klaus to gain her freedom. If she or Elena take the cure Klaus will be hanging around them like a bad smell to try to drain them of their blood to make more hybirds. Or will she use it on Klaus so that she can kill him?
