‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Tate Stevens, Demi Lovato, and Fifth Harmony

Tate StevensIn addition to the speculation involving Diamond White’s possible sitcom debut earlier today (which was first reported here), we have some more “X Factor” USA notes to share now on what has turned out to be a rather busy day with some season 2 contestants … along with one of the judges.

Let’s begin with the early verdict on Tate Stevens’ first radio single “Power of a Love Song.” This track is currently being rolled out across country formats, and it comes after he had his promotional video for “Holler If You’re With Me” air during the Grammy Awards. That was never meant to be his debut single, but it worked to get people talking about him in the days leading up to this.

Overall, this is the sort of song that is perfect for Tate. His voice is genuine and country through and through, and the lyrical content here suits him more than the other song, which was more of a Jason Aldean mixed with Toby Keith. We’ve always imagined Tate as more of an old-school Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson sort of country, and this song could legitimately be a hit.

Demi Lovato wants Lady Gaga – Well, look who’s aiming for the stars! Demi is getting set to release her new single “Heart Attack” early next month, but in a new interview with “Extra” she proclaimed that she would “love” to come back for another go as a judge after drawing mostly favorable reviews for her performance this past time.

As for who she would love to see join her on the panel, she made her response simple: Lady Gaga. Wouldn’t this be a great fit? We know that she would be honest, and it also helps that she is certainly relevant and has an upcoming album to promote. However, we also have a feeling that she would both demand too much money, and also would probably want to tour later this year after having to cancel many dates thanks to an injury.

Fifth Harmony hangs with Demi – Demi was not the only “X Factor” personality at the Top Shop opening at the Grove on Friday, as the ladies of Fifth Harmony, only a couple of days removed from their arrival in Los Angeles after some R&R around the country, stopped by for a visit.

In the video over here, you can see the group all saying hello to Demi, who performed with them during the show’s finale back in December.
