‘Breaking Bad’ season 5: Dean Morris heading down ‘Under the Dome’ after finale
Betsy Brandt, Jonathan Banks, and Anna Gunn are not the only people who already have some work lined up following their time on “Breaking Bad” this year: Dean Norris also now officially has a new gig.
Sources have confirmed that Dean Norris, who is set to have a huge role on the final eight episodes of the AMC hit, will be taking off to the CBS summer series “Under the Dome,” where she will be playing the character of the show’s primary villain in James “Big Jim” Rennie, a politician along with a car dealership owner. This is a pretty big role for Norris to receive straight off the gate, especially when you consider that he had to audition for the role against the likes of James Spader and other in-demand TV stars.
This “Under the Dome” series is starting to come together nicely, with one of the other major castings from this week coming via “Pan Am” star Mike Vogel, who is going to play the male lead known as “Barbie.” This is a series (and a Stephen King adaptation) that CBS has really taken a massive risk putting on the air in the first place. The vast majority of their summer series have not performed very well as of late save for “Big Brother,” and it is believed that their primary reason at the moment for trying out this show is simply in order to compete against some of what cable has been doing as of late to take away their audience.
What do you think about Norris’ casting, and do you become more and more excited about “Under the Dome” with each passing day? If you want to see some more specific “Breaking Bad” scoop on if a character will die before the series finale, you can check it out over at the link here.
