NBC’s ‘The Office’ series finale date set
Now, we know when we are going to be saying goodbye to both Dunder-Mifflin and to Scranton, Pennsylvania for good. On Thursday, NBC made the big announcement that “The Office” is going to be coming to a close with a one-hour episode on Thursday, May 16.
Not much is known specifically about the events that are set to unfold during the episode, but we should set to receive some sort of fitting (and hopefully happy) ending to most of the characters’ stories. Michael Scott will not be returning based on what Steve Carell has said over the past few months, but over the coming weeks we are going to see some other returning faces, including B.J. Novak (Ryan), Mindy Kaling (Kelly), and Zach Woods (Gabe).
As for the Jim and Pam storyline, this has once again started to take over as one of the most important ones on the entire show. These lovebirds have experienced some of their first bit of relationship turbulence this season, as Jim’s interest in starting up a business with some college friends in Philadelphia has led to him spending time away from his family and causing enormous amounts of tension. At times, Jim has often come across as rather unlikable; but one thing that this storyline has helped to show is some of what goes on behind the scenes, in particular with a boom mic operator named Brian that ended up getting fired from his job after protecting her from a particularly awful worker from the warehouse.
