‘New Girl’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Justified’ alum set to play Nick’s mom
We are not quire sure if there has been any guest-starring news for a comedy this year that makes us as excited as this: Emmy-winner Margo Martindale is going to be playing Nick Miller’s mother on “New Girl” later this season.
Entertainment Weekly first confirmed this casting, and also stated that Martindale’s character is going to be extremely emotional, and in between her and Dennis Farina’s character, we are suddenly going to be seeing a rather bizarre situation with this show where the guy who does a “panic moonwalk” may actually be the most normal person in his family.
As for how the former “Justified” star is going to be appearing on the show this year, the gang will be heading back to Nick’s hometown of Chicago, which will give us a great opportunity to learn a little bit more about the guy’s past. As for just how the gang will be received while present in this place, it’s not going to be entirely peachy. As a matter of fact, Nick’s mother is going to question Nick’s relationship with Jess.
This is by no means confirmation that Nick and Jess’ romantic feelings are going to escalate at all; instead, we could just be talking about the friendship that they have, and the obvious vibes that are floating around between the two of them. After all, we have a hard time imagining that the show is going to really put these two together at any point before the end of the season.
