TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 2 spoilers: A six million dollar guest star

DallasThis has certainly been a surprising week for “Dallas,” to say the least. Despite a great deal of public interest surrounding the death of one Larry Hagman, the show premiered to a surprisingly low viewership on TNT; with that in mind, the show now has an uphill battle to try and figure out just why the numbers were so much lower than they were all summer long, and whether or not this is a problem that can be fixed.

One thing that we do know now? The show is going to be bringing on board a man valued at $6 million … or, should we say, the Six Million Dollar Man. According to Entertainment Weekly, the legendary Lee Majors has signed on for a two-episode guest arc on the show, where he will be playing the part of an old flame of Sue Ellen’s, who happens by chance to run into her again.

Majors has appeared in a number of other TV and film projects since playing his iconic character for nearly a hundred episodes, with two of his most-recent TV highlights being “Community” and “Weeds.” This casting does fill the “Dallas” strategy of trying to find guest stars that will appeal to an older audience, presumably some people who were avid fans of the original series so many years ago.

Ultimately, what do you think about the Majors casting, and are you as excited about the season as you were the first? In case you have not heard yet, the funeral for Hagman’s J.R. Ewing is going to be held on March 31; and if you want to check out some more news on this subject, all you have to do is head on over to the link here.
