‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6: Jim Parsons on watching show live, making it rain
After watching the madcap Golden Globes earlier this year, we’ve now come to a pretty reasonable conclusion: the Screen Actors Guild Awards are far and away the better red carpet of the two. As a matter of fact, this may the best best red carpet out of any awards show out there (even if the show itself is a little bit predictable).
So what makes this show specifically stand out from the mold? Since these awards are voted on by the actors for actors, there is a greater air of comfort and fun on the red carpet. Take as a prime example of that a hilarious interview that aired on E! between Giuliana Rancic and “The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parsons, who admitted that he actually likes to watch new episodes of the show live to get a taste for what the viewers at home experience:
“I typically do [watch the show] … I will miss one every once in a while … but [the primetime airing] is [something I watch regularly].”
Parsons also showed just how out-of-touch he is with some of the current pop-culture vernacular, as he was completely flabbergasted by the expression of “making it rain” in the context of what he was doing while working in a recording studio with Rihanna on an upcoming project. He also admitted he only learned what “dubstep” was a short period of time ago.
To make this interview even more entertaining, we also learned that Parsons worked on an M&Ms commercial that never aired seven years ago with “The Office” star Ellie Kemper, and the two shared a moment on the red carpet together.
Do you wish we saw more of Jim in real life away from the show? Be sure to share of your thoughts below, and you can also check out what is coming up on “The Big Bang Theory” season 6 over at the link here.

I always enjoy Jim parsons interviews. He is fun and polite. I would love to see Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik do an interview together on some late night show. I really did enjoy the Comic Con interviews. The 2011 Comic Con was very funny. Thanks Jim for entertaining us!! Love to watch.

Jim Parsons is enormously talented. He is wonderful as Sheldon, and I also saw him on Broadway last summer in Harvey – and he was great there, too.
