ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Synopsis for Nathan Fillion – Gina Torres reunion
Everyone has their own episode of “Castle” that they are looking forward to the most out of the ones airing during the February sweeps. Some people may say that they are excited to see the return of Jack Coleman as Senator Bracken, that way they can see the man responsible for the murder of Beckett’s mother finally put in his place. Meanwhile, there are probably others who are thrilled to see the first appearance of James Brolin as Castle’s father, and are understandably chomping at the bit to see what happens during this two-part episode that airs at the end of the month.
From a personal standpoint as a diehard “Firefly” fan, though, the episode that strikes a chord in our nerdy little heart is the upcoming one that gets Nathan Fillion working again with Gina Torres. The actress, who is also now on the USA series “Suits,” will be appearing as a star of a “Real Housewives”-inspired reality show who gets themselves involved in a very messy case. This installment is specifically entitled “Reality Star Struck,” and you can check out the official synopsis for it below courtesy of SpoilerTV:
“The young, rising star of ‘The Wives of Wall Street’ is murdered; Castle tries to give Beckett a Valentine’s Day gift, but his plans go awry.”
Some of our favorite “Castle” episodes (see “The Final Frontier”) are those that feature humor and Fillion’s charm in addition to a great case, and we have a feeling that the writers are going to have a field day finding some fun ways to spoof a reality TV franchise that is so ripe to be made fun of. Plus, Fillion has a tendency to light up when he gets a chance to work with a former member of the Serenity crew; just look at his work with Adam Baldwin last year as evidence.
Is this the “Castle” episode you are most looking forward to? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below, and you can also check out some details about an upcoming “American Horror Story”-esque episode of the show here.

Jack Coleman. That is all.
