For those of you out there who are big-time fans of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” you should be pleased to know that one of the most-popular series in the history of the Disney Channel will be back … even if it is only for one night.
Earlier this week, the network confirmed that the upcoming TV movie “The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex” will be premiering on Friday, March 15, and it mark the return of Selena Gomez to the show that originally made her into a household name. During this episode, Gomez’s Alex and her family will be traveling to Tuscany in order to connect with some distant relatives, but she accidentally conjures up a spell that ends up creating both good and evil versions of herself. For Selena, this has to be an interesting twist in that she gets to play something that goes a little bit against her squeaky-clean image on TV … which is something that she is also trying to get away from with her upcoming appearance in the racy film “Spring Breakers.”
This news certainly also has to be rather exciting for Selena just when it comes to getting her name back in the headlines for something positive. Over the past few months the actress has been dealing with a very public breakup from Justin Bieber, and while she has made a few sporadic appearances and even performed at a recent charity concert, she has yet to really give any interviews on either that or any other subject.
Selena’s most-recent high-profile appearance on TV actually came during a “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” episode, where she read off a “mean tweet” of herself along with many other major celebrities.
Are you planning to watch Selena’s new movie?
