‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar, CeCe Frey, Britney Spears
This edition of “The X Factor” USA notes has a theme to it: moving forward, as all three of the artists featured (two former contestants and a former judge) are doing their best to try and figure out just what moves are best for their career next.
For Carly Rose Sonenclar … This move is getting back in the recording studio. The reigning runner-up posted on Twitter this weekend that she not only was taking part in a session in front of a microphone, but she also took part in some sort of video shoot. There’s no word on when we are going to see the results of any of this just yet, at least other than “soon.”
Carly could feasibly have a debut album out by the end of the year depending on what happens in the recording process, but patience is very much a key here.
For CeCe Frey … She’s back in Los Angeles! After being in the City of Angels for much of the fall taking part on the show, the Illinois native (who hails from Decatur, the same town immortalized in that awesome Sufjan Stevens song) posted a message on her Twitter announcing that she is back:
“Landed in LA yesterday afternoon with nothing but a dream and two suitcases. Watch me raise hell.”
While CeCe’s future is far from set in stone at the moment, she proved on the show that she’s both a fighter and a hard worker. When you are in the rat race known as the music industry, this matters more than we can say.
For Britney Spears … She’s close to make her next move. Sources tell TMZ that the pop superstar (who recently quit the show in order to focus on music) is close to signing a deal at a major Las Vegas establishment for a residency that will likely pay her at least five times more than the $15 million she earned on this show. Celine Dion earned $100 million for her show, and it’s possible Britney could pull in even more.

kelly u sound so ridiculous, i bet u think a ferrari is a really slow car right? lol what a hater u are! u should be happy for carly rose, her talent is astronomical and i think her highest notes are high enough and what she does with her voice is incredible. dont be mad that shes gonna be a millionaire pretty soon and ur still gonna be a nobody, carly rose is probs a lot cuter than u too ;P lol

I 100% agree with Benzir. Okay so Tate had been looking for his big break for years. So what, that doesn’t mean he should have won. If it was about talent Carly should have won in my eyes. She has a very special gift there and deserves it much as anyone

Kelly – Really? The way you talk about Carly’s personality and Carly’s parents – you’d think you have known them for years. I would wager you have not even shared the same air space with these people…yet you get on the internet and spout off like you have some “special insight” into their lives…spare us the “pseudo psychology”…It just make you look petty and jealous. …and your “analysis” of Carly’s singing. Please…get over yourself…anyone who has heard Carly and feels it necessary to dissect it with that much “verbage” just likes to hear themselves talk…

Wow, everybody is talking about this little girl. I personally don’t find her dull I think she’s very entertaining for her age. It’s really not fair for calling her brat, rich kids and other stuff. Carly just want to be a superstar, who can blame her with that unique voice. This girl only come once a generation, let’s hope she do well.

Schevonne, I mean JoJo had a cracked voice. Cuz she oversang and outdid herself in her teens. Overworked her voice. All I meant to say is I hope carly doesn’t end up like jojo cuz jojo sounds awful live now.

carly strains on the top notes. Its ok cuz she’s still a baby she has time to immprove that. But she’s no where near Celine or Mariah. Mariah is a full lyric soprano and Celine is a full soprano. Carly can’t really be labeled yet cuz she’s so young but so far she’s a mezzo-soprano. She needs to learn how to use hr diaphragm. I haven’t heard carly sing a bb6 note, a D7 note, and a F6 (like mariah can). Plus I doubt Carly has a whistle register. Carly’s good in her mid-range. Her F5s and Eb5s are gorgeous.

kelly u must be deaf or a hater, carly sings high notes perfectly thats what makes her so superb, she sings high notes as well or better than celine dion and mariah carey, thats why none of the judges believe shes 13 and think shes an alien, cuz she does some pretty superhuman stuff with her voice

carly is not dull at all shes adorable and sweet and beautiful….and her voice is beyond spectacular, not only her voice but her style is different and cool, just like simon said. u guys are all haters, shes better right now than everyone else u hear on the radio today, imagine wen she actually comes out with an album? shes gonna take the world by storm. cant wait to buy all her albums and go to all her concerts. carly you’re the best i love you!

Firstly Carly does have personality. She’s not dull. Just because she doesn’t have a sob story like every other contestant and can actually achieve perfection doesn’t mean she has no personality. You people do realise they edit things on the show to create these perceptions? secondly who says she can’t sell records at 13/14? Jojo and bieber started releasing music at that age. However i do agree that she should switch her singing style a bit now and not hit too many of the high notes as it could damage her vocal chords. Also Carly’s parents have a right to be pissed at LeAnn Rimes because she completely screwed carly’s performance. However you don’t actually know if she blames her because those were just speculations from these articles. No direct quote just supposed ‘insiders’. Lastly the reason she hasn’t been signed yet i think is because she is getting multiple offers in my opinion. Out of all the contestants she is the only one that’ll have longevity meaning she will sell many many records for years to come. With a huge international fanbase i’m sure many record labels are throwing her offers and her management are just looking through them all

carly is an extrordinary kid, we all know that she is only 13 going onto 14 but dont u think if thats the situation, then why has she come all the way up to the finals and to be a runners-up is like almost having the crown. if she does have a cracked voice then you mean to say simon cowell and L.A. reid are toned deaf towards music.
look carly is and awsome singer and yes if your’ll just give her a chance she will prove your’ll wrong, i bet she can even sing better than u….

Maybe she hasn’t signed w anyone because she has no personality and thr were people saying she’s going to disney for her own show but carly has no personality she’s dull at least diamond and beatrice have personalities and can sing ok even though carly is a great singer she can’t relate to people very well since she’s a rich kid

So is she doing covers or recording her debut album? After x factor there were rumours of carly and syco and nothing since then. Look at fifth harmony’s website they have a syco label @ the bottom of the page and we know emblem got signed because it was announced. Wonder why no one’s signed carly she’s so talented?

@racheal, I get what you mean. I do worry for carly cuz she’s 13 and JoJo, the singer was around the same age when she started and now when you see JoJo live she can’t hit those D5s or C5s as smoothly anymore. Her voice is cracked. The voice is an instrument. Hope she takes care of it

Yea if Carly ever wants a shot at being a legit pop star she should stay away from broadway. Not too many can go from there to pop star. She can do it if she stays away from broadway. And the hats she wears are annoying but that’s expected from someone who came from broadway they like hats

I love Carly Rose too, but before I googled her I had a feeling she was a theatre kid. Cuz of the way she sings songs. Her fondess for belting screamed broadway. I know about vocals and she needs to switch vocal coaches if she has a theatre based or broadway based vocal coach cuz they overemphasize belting. And belting is something you shouldn’t do a lot of when you’re young because it damages vocal chords. She needs to be classically trained or she needs to hire a vocal coach who works with pop singers.

Ok. I get that Carly is talented, but WHAT is the rush to become a super star? She’s 13 going on 14. Who’s going to believe her when she sings about love? Or heartbreak? Her mom and dad are probably pushing her into the industry. Her mom gives off a Dina Lohan vibe. Cuz she blamed Carly’s loss on Leann. Come on Carly couldn’t sing the high notes in the song even though Leann was a drunken mess. Carly’s mom, guess what ur daughter didn’t win cuz she’s fro weschester and tate had a sob story, the producers wanted tate to win all along cuz it’s like a hallmark movie. Poor guy gets contract. Or guy gets another shot at being a country star. Work on your high notes carly and go to school. Be a kid. You’re tightly wound for 13.
