‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Britney Spears out, Carly Rose Sonenclar’s tweet

X FactorFor this edition of our “X Factor” USA notes, it only seems appropriate that we begin with the news that is currently breaking across all of America: Britney Spears may be done with the show officially after only one season, and it is of her own doing rather than some decision made for her by Fox or the producers.

According to TMZ, Britney has decided to skip the upcoming third season of the show even in spite of a possible $15 million+ payday, largely so that she can focus on working on her new album and preparing a tour. Is it possible that she knows something we don’t? Sure. We’ve had a hard time believing that producers would pay her the same sort of crazy money again for another season considering the lack of criticism that she brought to the panel, and with the show’s ratings we wondered almost if they could even afford Britney to begin with.

If Britney is out, the search for another female judge will begin soon; and at the moment, we’re going to petition again for Cheryl Cole even though it will never happen in a million years.

Carly’s compliment – Carly Rose Sonenclar has yet to talk about the reported exit of her former mentor, but she has received some recognition from a guy who is becoming a go-to writer in the business right now: Ed Sheeran. In addition to having his own internation hit in “The A-Team,” he also wrote “Little Things” for One Direction.

Carly started off the exchange of well-wishes by saying that she was “obsessed” with the singer’s “Give Me Love,” and he replied by thanking her and saying that her voice was “incredible.” This is great news for Carly for one primary reason: you can never have too many other young friends in the recording industry.
