‘Cougar Town’ season 4: Boss talks new episodes, move to TBS

Cougar TownIt has been a long time coming, but on Tuesday night TBS is finally going to premiere a show that has had a bit of a rough road in recent years: “Cougar Town.” This was a program that ABC kept off of the air for almost a full year following season 2, and there were worries after some ratings woes in 2012 that Courteney Cox and company would never see the light of day. However, the cable network decided to take a chance on a show with a devoted fan following, and based on the panel featuring the show’s cast along with creator Bill Lawrence at TCA on Friday, everyone is more than just a little bit excited about getting the opportunity to be at a place where they are embraced and welcomed.

With that being said, don’t expect many changes between this season and what we have seen in the past. Lawrence told a panel of reporters that even though the new network and time could enable them to be a tad edgier, he really does not want the show to feel any different at all to the loyal fans who have been watching over the years:

“I want them to notice no difference … eventually, if [fans are] watching reruns of these episodes, they can’t tell what’s from the third season and what’s from the fourth.”

As for some hints about the new season, get ready to see Jules take some drastic steps (including wearing very little clothing) in an attempt to keep her new marriage fresh, while there will also be more development when it comes to Travis and Laurie. This is a story that Busy Philipps admits to being very against at first when doing the show, but has since come around thanks to working with Dan Byrd.
