Considering the ratings for “The Mob Doctor” at the moment, which have led to the show being effectively canceled by Fox, we almost wish that this new and rather brilliant idea by series creator Josh Berman had been tried out a little bit earlier. Why? Let’s just say that had he tried this a little bit earlier in the show’s run prior to the episode airing at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on New Year’s Eve, he may have been able to lure over some members of the “Bones” faithful.
Before coming over to this new series starring Jordana Spiro, Berman served as a consulting producer on the Hart Hanson / Stephen Nathan series for almost 90 episodes; and speaking in a new interview with TVLine, he promises that Monday night’s episode (which is the second in three days following a new installment on Saturday) is going to contain a number of fun references to “Bones” throughout that even viewers who have never seen “The Mob Doctor” before will appreciate:
“If you’re a Bones fan, don’t miss this episode. The ‘eggs’ are everywhere … It should be a fun treat for Bones fans.”
As for those who are devoted fans to “The Mob Doctor,” Berman also promises that the show is building towards an epic conclusion in the series finale airing early next month, which will wrap up the story so that no one is left hanging for an ending that will never come. The show just never found much of an audience from the start, and this has led to Fox airing a couple of episodes on Saturdays in order to prepare for the launch of their new show “The Following.”
If you are a diehard “Bones” fans, then you will appreciate that season 8 of the show will return in mid-January with new episodes. If you want to find out some more casting news, you can do so over at the link here.
