‘Justified’ season 4: Timothy Olyphant gets up close and personal in new photo

With the new year comes some great new programming; and when it comes to FX, this specifically means the launch of one of their best series in “Justified.” Want to know just what is going to happen? That’s going to be rather hard to figure out; however, we do at least have some new promotional art worth sharing from the network that may very well be some of our favorite of the entire year.

The photo is by James Minchin, and he does a fantastic job of capturing the emotion in U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens’ face. From one standpoint, the man looks almost innocent with the way in which he is clutching his fists, and the subtle grin he has on his face. Then, you look upward at his arches eyebrows and almost eerie star, and you realize that there may be something far greater on his mind.

There are some advantages and disadvantages to “Justified” season 4 airing so early in the year beginning on January 8, with the primary plus being that there is a little less in the way of competition in January than there would be if it was premiering its new episodes a month later. However, does this early start date make it a little bit more forgettable by the time awards season rolls around? This is what we wonder, in particular since Margo Martindale and Jeremy Davies are somehow the only actors from this show to manage to win Emmys … and how Timothy Olyphant has only been nominated once is beyond us.
