‘Sons of Anarchy’ video: Talking about Peter Weller
With “Sons of Anarchy” done for the year, we are not going to get many opportunities to talk about the show in the months ahead, at least not until season 6 really starts to get going beginning with the writing process in February. Luckily, though, the show (and executive producer Kurt Sutter) are giving us the opportunity to still check out some new videos from season 5 to keep us waiting.
With that, we bring to you the latest installment of “Before the Anarchy,” which features Sutter and Katey Sagal each talking about the appearance of one Peter Weller as a director for a few select episodes during this past season. It’s a fun sort of look into the man Weller is, as some of his quirks and personality traits are pointed out, including his love for motorcycles, cigars, and his own history with entertainment that featured plenty of gunplay.
Perhaps the greatest moment for us in this entire video is a sculpture shown off featuring Weller’s famous “RoboCop” alongside Ron Perlman’s “Hellboy,” a reference to the actors’ two most-popular characters. Weller has known Perlman for some time, and the two apparently share plenty of laughs together. When it comes to Weller’s directing skills, meanwhile, Sagal and Sutter cannot be more complimentary of what he brings to the table and how some of his episodes are particular outstanding.
“Sons of Anarchy” is actually the third show this year that Weller directed an episode of, as he has also gravitated over to A&E’s “Longmire” along with the final season of Fox’s “House” earlier this year.
