‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: More details on Emilia Clarke’s latest role
While “Game of Thrones” is airing season 3, you may have a prime opportunity to check out some other work from Emilia Clarke … at least so long as you are living in the Big Apple.
In a new release, it has been revealed that previews for the revival of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” featuring Clarke, who you probably know best as Daenerys Targeryan, in the lead role as Holly are slated to begin on March 4, with its official opening currently scheduled for March 20 at the Cort Theater. This is only eleven days prior to the start of season 3 of the hit HBO show, which is promising quite an exciting year for Dany. Clarke told Jimmy Kimmel during an interview on his late-night talk show this past week that you show expect plenty of action from her character, and also plenty of skin.
This booking for the stage adaptation of the Truman Capote work is going to be huge for Clarke’s career, as she gets an opportunity to show off another side after being known largely for one role over the course of the past two years. She has been in consideration for some motion-picture roles, but none have been confirmed so far. The benefit of her doing this play in the spring is that she can stay on Broadway for several months, and then return back to Northern Ireland to begin shooting a potential (and likely) “Game of Thrones” season 4 in the summer, which is when they traditionally start up shooting.
