‘Dexter’ season 7 finale spoilers: Possible Hannah regrets
We’ve presented plenty of theories already concerning Hannah McKay and the water bottle that led to Dexter Morgan having her arrested, but at the end of the day theories are just that. Did she try and poison Deb? This is the absolute question, and at some point on the “Dexter” season 7 finale it could benefit from an absolute answer.
For the record, we’re still leaning towards Hannah having nothing to do with what happened to Deb, largely because her own logic makes sense. Why on earth would she only partially poison someone when she knows that she would be the primary suspect for it. If she wanted her dead, it could have happened and that would have been a very easy solution to it.
So did Dexter act impulsively in having her arrested? Not necessarily, since he was still acting to protect his sister at the end of the day. However, Michael C. Hall explains to TV Guide that making that move has put him in a very damaged state during the last episode of the year, especially when it comes to some secrets of his own that he is trying to keep:
“I think he was open to a sense of possibility and open to a sense of a legitimate future in a way that he never has been before and that’s not going to be an easy thing to dismiss … He believes that Hannah does love him and will keep his secret. He, if nothing else, believes she’ll do it out of a sense of self-righteousness, that she was able to keep secrets in a way that he couldn’t.”
We don’t know if Hannah will be released from prison, but the one thing we can promise is simple: she does still have quite the role to play.
