NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: Who’s Jeff Winger’s new dance partner?
Any concerns that “Community” season 4 would step away from the show’s quirky roots with new showrunners need not be concerned. After all, the new photos released for the February 7 premiere are perfect evidence that things are going to be as strange (and also possibly as hilarious) as ever.
Is that Dean Pelton in drag that Jeff Winger is dancing with? It sure is, and this is far from the strangest outfit that we have ever seen this Dean wear. As for why Joel McHale’s character looks like he has just been in a gang fight, the answer is simple: he, like many of the other members of the Greendale 7, are working through a “Hunger Games”-esque competition in order to figure out just who is going to be able to enter the prestigious “History of Ice Cream” course that everyone wants.
As for Abed, we are assuming here that he is going through a similar sort of challenge, though instead of just dancing with the Dean, he is being forced to go through some sort of secret-agent challenge that includes him ducking under various lights. This seems like the sort of competition that only Greendale would put on, mostly because it’s hard to imagine any other institution going through something that could be putting their students at such risk for bodily harm.
will have been off the air for a full nine months by the time its 13 episodes begin airing, so with that in mind our hope here is that NBC does give the show at least some decent promotion, and the diehard fanbase (as small as it may be) remember to watch. This is the only way a season 5 can happen, and the show has never been as great of an underdog as it is now.
If you want to see McHale, Danny Pudi, and many of the other “Community” cast members speak out in a new and rather fun video, you can do so over at the link here.
